Rodney A. Jong MS, LMFT

The shoe that fits one person pinches another; there is no recipe for living that suits all cases.  - Carl Jung

To gain the most from therapy, you will have to work for it.  My role is as a guide and companion on your journey.  When we are together I will be curious and ask you about your life - past, present and your hopes for the future.  Sometimes I may reframe an experience you relate to me because the significance of a memory may shift when taken in a new context.  At other times I will listen with the attitude of being  witness to your experience.  Most importantly, I will make our time together a safe place to feel and talk about those things that have no other place to be said.

How To Enhance Your Therapy
  • Being self-motivated and ready to make lasting change.
  • Valuing direct and honest feedback from me.
  • Valuing and being willing to be involved with the family and community beyond yourself.
  • Being willing to read and learn about how other people have successfully dealt with life's problems and challenges.
  • Knowing the value of not missing sessions, and following through on assignments between sessions.
