Rodney A. Jong MS, LMFT

There is always a chance that you can change your life because you can always learn something new.              -Virgina Satir

My therapeutic philosophy is centered on viewing the person in context of the family they grew up in and seeing how what they learned there relates to their current situation.

My clinical interest is centered around dealing with the traumas found in both the ordinary and the extraordinary parts of life.

The way I work is to listen to you and discover your reality.  If your map of the situation needs updating, we can work on it together.

Sometimes we don't have control over what happens in our lives.  We only have control over how we decide to feel about it.

Besides my private practice, I have worked with Bellevue Community Services as a therapist since 1997.  At Bellevue Community Services I am the primary therapist for crisis intervention.
Prior to that I worked as a chemical dependency counselor at Square One Chemical Dependency Services (1994 - 1995).  I have additionally been trained and worked with issues of Sexual Addiction. My experience in working with trauma was at the Crisis Clinic as a phoneworker (1989 - 2001).
